We use a service called ‘Big Marker’ for our webinars.  We have used it many times before and most people experience no problems (although note that you need to use Firefox or Chrome for it to work properly).  If you do have any issues, Big Marker have help articles for attendees here.

Telephone Advice from David

David’s firm, JMW Solicitors, is on our panel for our Telephone Advice Service.

If you would like David to provide your telephone advice, select the JMW Solicitors option and then on the instruction form, say that you would like to speak to David Smith personally if possible.  Note that if he is not immediately available or on holiday, this may mean that you have to wait a bit longer to speak to him.

Thank you for attending our workshop.  We hope you enjoyed it.

We will be loading the recordings up here in a few days time, once we have been able to edit the footage.

We will let you know once this has been done.

In the meantime it would  be really appreciated if you could complete our feedback form (if you have not already given feedback).  This is very important for us and helps us to plan future training events.

Barnham Broom Hotel EntranceIn Person Bookings

The workshop will take place at:

Barnham Broom Hotel
Honingham Road, Barnham Broom

You can see its location on the Google map below.  There is also a map here.  When driving to the venue you should park in the area in front of the building (2) rather than the parking area to the side (4).  If you park in the side area you will need to walk round to the front.  See our video below (featuring Mark who you will see on the day).

Refreshments will be provided on arrival and throughout the day.

If you are travelling from a distance, you may want to book an overnight room at the hotel their website is here.

However, if you do so, please ensure that your booking (and any other booking you may make) is cancellable and/or that you are covered by insurance, as it is always possible that in-person attendance at this event may have to be cancelled due to the pandemic.  If the event has to be cancelled for any reason note that we cannot be held responsible for any payments such as hotel bookings or travel payments you may have made.

Cancellations

Cancellations  by you

You can cancel at any time up to 12 noon on the day of the event, save that if you have booked to attend in person there will be a £50 cancellation charge for cancellations on the day and for seven days preceding.  This is to take account of payments made to the venue for your attendance and refreshments.

All cancellations should be notified to us via the Green Button messenger service (there is a guide to using this here – please wait for the guide popups to appear).

Cancellations by us

It is possible that we will have to cancel the in-person event if gatherings become prohibited under the coronavirus regulations, or if we feel it would be inadvisable to proceed.   If this happens we should be able to proceed as a live stream event only in which case we will refund £50 to in-person delegates so you can attend as a live stream delegate (or cancel your booking and give a full refund if you prefer).

If for any reason we are unable to proceed as a live stream event, we will either continue as a normal online event (ie without live stream) or will put the event back to another date.  Hopefully, this will not be necessary but if it does you will be notified and we will if we can survey you for your preference.

Event-related expenses incurred by you

Note that as discussed above, we cannot be held liable for any expenses you may have incurred (for example hotel and travel fees), if the event is cancelled or changed for any reason, so make sure these are cancellable or covered by insurance.

If you need to contact us

Generally, we prefer you to contact us via the green button messenger service on Landlord Law as there is less chance of your message going astray.   See also our contact page.

Finally – your questions:

If you have any topics, in particular, you would like David to cover please use the form below.  NB Please do not use this to post details of specific situations – just general areas of law or practice.
